February 5, 2012: New Ivywild champion! More Congratulations to Cocoa!! - Ivywild's Seventh Heaven at Pennylane (Winston + Ivy) ! Cocoa finished her AKC championship Sunday going Best of Winners under Judge Joseph E. Gregory at Boardwalk Kennel Club of Cape May County. Congratulations to Cocoa's entire family Judy, Tony, Julia and Jaclyn. We're so proud of Cocoa.
February 5, 2012: Sunday was a good Ivywild WSS day! Congratulations to Freedom - Ivywild's Seven Blessings (Winston + Ivy)! Freedom won Best of Breed from classes over specials (CH's) under Judge Rita A. Bell at Great Barrington Kennel Club. Congratulations Rose & Darryl! We are so proud of Freedom and this nice win!

January 12, 2012: It looks like it's official... J-Clarke, GCH Am/Can/UKC Ch. Ivywild's Lookin' To Skeldale, finished 2011 as #1 Welsh Springer Spaniel, WSSCA and WSS breed statistics. January 7, 2012: Congratulations to VETERANS!!!! Two veteran welsh won top honors at American Spaniel Club this year - our Ivy's brother AM CH Benton Ivy League, CDX, RN, MX, AXJ, MXP, MJP, CGC, and "Farina", Ch. Slapestone's Sea Breeze. Hooray!
January 6, 2012: Just heard that Quincy, IVYWILD'S CRIMSON KNIGHT (Quincy + Lili) won his American Spaniel Club Sweepstakes 6 - 9 mos. Puppy Class! Congratulations to Quincy and his owners Ed & Patti Slaughter & Marion Daniel! Way to go for a young pup! We think Quincy (Jr.) is very promising and look forward to watching him show in future. New photos coming soon!

December 20, 2011: One of the best things about the holidays is the wonderful WSS photo cards we receive! Wes and I love opening them. This beautiful e-card of Ch. Ivywild's Ever After "Drew" and her two puppies came from Peg & Doug Lehnen, Tiergwaith. Thank you, it's beautiful!

December 16, 2011: Great news from his owners, Ivywild's Seven Blessings "Freedom" (Winston x Ivy 2009) got his result in the mail from the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals - Hips: OFA GOOD Elbows: NORMAL! Hooray! Freedom is pictured below relaxing in his yard.

November 28, 2011: We received cute photos of Ivywild's Be Mine Tonite (Brody) and Ivywild's Be A Rockstar (Bono) -Laci + Aerie puppies. Keep 'em coming! We have hopes of seeing Brody in the show-ring and performance events with owner Kim and family, and Bono is Nancy's beloved companion/pet in Mass.

November 11, 2011: Many thanks to Ann for this pretty outdoor photo below of "Rowan", Ivywild's Be True (Aerie x Laci 2011). Ann writes that Rowan is doing just great and they're midway through Obedience Level II! She says Rowan's a fast learner, but is definitely the party girl of the class and would much rather play! Thank you Ann, for giving Rowan such a good home!

October 22, 2011: It is with great sadness that Ivywild and the Moysey family announce the loss of a beautiful, beloved, wonderful dog, Dillan. He was a bright light. Dillan was devoted to his owners Steve and Monica, and welshie pal Tess. Dillan will be lovingly remembered, always. He was born into my hands, loved and cuddled at birth; and he was deeply loved every day of his life and held tenderly at his passing. Good-bye brave angel.

October 16, 2011: "Finley", Ivywild's Crimson Captivation (Quincy x Lili 2011), started formal obedience training classes this past weekend at "People Training for Dogs" school with owner Tom. Tom reports Finley's learning "Watch Me", "Heel", "Stay" and other basics. Good job Tom & Finley!

October 10, 2011: We celebrated Wes' birthday by taking Ivy and Laci on a hike in the woods and swim. A blast! At 11+ years old, Ivy isn't slowing down in the water! She's still a fish.

September 25, 2011: Northwestern Connecticut Dog Club Show, Goshen, Conn. - Jody (Ivywild's Ace of Diamonds [Fenway x Laci 2010])won Winners Bitch for her 1st point! Congratulations Joyce! Thanks to Judge Nancy Simmons. Jody's sire, Ch. Ivywild's Lookin' For Aces,was Best of Breed! Steve & Jim brought Scarlet (Ivywild's BeWitched [Aerie x Laci 2011]). Scarlet's adorable and growing nicely at 5 mos. old. A very friendly, playful girl, she loved her first experience at a dog show. Thanks so much for bringing her!

September 22, 2011: This past weekend Wes and I had a great visitwith Rose & Darryl, Justice & Freedom. It's hard to believe Justice is 8 yrs. old now (Ch. Ivywild's Dew Unto Others [Kalven x Ivy 2003]). He's in great physical condition thanks to Rose & Darryl's running! He & housemate and half-brother Freedom (Ivywild's Seven Blessings [Winston x Ivy 2009]) are best buddies. Below are a few photos taken during our visit.

September 8, 2011: News from Nancy - Belmont, MA, "Pet-Estrian" petwalking & sitting services honored Bono, Ivywild's Be A Rockstar (Aerie x Laci 2011), as the September Pet of the Month! Pet-Estrian says, "Bono (named for the lead singer in the Irish band U2) is a rock star! He is 12 weeks old and learning the ropes with his mother and older brother. He loves terrorizing Jack, racing around the yard, and putting his freckled nose and mouth on every object he sees. He is confident and blithe, a lovely spirit."

September 3, 2011: Newton Kennel Club was a bit of an Ivywild reunion day! It was great for Kathy, Martha & I to see Lili's pups Finley & Quincy again, lovely boys! Many thanks to Sandy & Rich Rohrbacher for a delicious dinner in their beautiful home, Marion Daniel, Martha Curtis & Debbie Edgett for lunch Saturday. August 12, 2011: "Quincy Jr.", Ivywild's Crimson Knight (Quincy x Lili) had a visit from his mom Lili and aunties Kathy, Martha, Maggie & Marion on Friday. They had fun, and then Quincy fell asleep in Maggie's lap.


August 1, 2011: "Scarlett", Ivywild's Bewitched (Aerie x Laci) swimming in her pool cooling off.
August 9, 2011: Ivywild's Crimson Captivation (Quincy x Lili) is learning to swim. His owner Tom throws a frisbee into the ocean about 10 feet out, and "Frankie/Finley"swims out and retrieves it. July 17, 2011: Brody, Ivywild's Be Mine Tonite, attended a Celtic Celebration where Celtic breeds of dogs were invited to to participate in an exhibition. Kim reported that Brody was a huge hit! It was a great socialization event for him and he was enthusiastic about meeting all kinds of dogs from Irish Wolfhounds to Collies to Westies. Plus he got tons of attention from people of all sorts - babies, toddlers, people with hats, canes, sunglasses...he took it all in stride! Many thanks to Kim & Kaylyn for the photos!
July 17, 2011: Very hot weather meant Ivy and Laci went swimming on their weekend hike! They love it so much we can't say the word aloud, we have to spell it. Ivy's 11 and Laci's 5 years old.

July 10, 2011: Ivywild's Seven Blessings (Heatherstone's Jopa Blue + Benton Ivy Garden), "Freedom", had a good time at the Yankee Classic show cluster in W. Springfield. He earned Winners Dog and 2 pts. each day Wednesday & Thursday, and a Winners Dog/Best of Winners 3 pt. major Sunday. Congratulations to his proud owners and his handler Candy Carswell. June 18-27, 2011: All the puppies, Lili's and Laci's, went to their new homes. Kathy & Martha did a wonderful job raising, nurturing, and socializing Lili's litter - not to mention tons of laundry and gruel cooking! We want to wish everyone much luck and joy with their new puppies and ask you all to pleasekeep us updated with progress and send pictures!

June 5, 2011: Woo hoo! Go Cocoa! Cocoa, Ivywild's Seventh Heaven at Pennylane, won her 2nd Major today at Burlington County KC under Judge Patricia Laurans. Both majors accomplished. Wrightstown was her weekend. Congratulations Judy and to Miss Cocoa Russo's entirefamily! (photos coming soon)
June 4, 2011: Hooray! Exciting news - Cocoa, Ivywild's Seventh Heaven at Pennylane, won her first Major today at Huntington Valley KC, under Judge Lowell K. Davis. Congratulations Judy!
May 24, 2011: Happy Birthday to the "Dew" Litter! Sire: Ch. Don's Still Waters Run Deep, WDX, SH + Dam: Ch. Benton Ivy Garden. We named them after Ivy's auntie, Benton Dew at Inu-Goya.The "Dew's" are 8 yrs. old today and going strong! Three AKC champions, one BoS WSSCA National Specialty winner, one Rally Novice, anda Master Hunter.

May 11, 2011: Today is Ivy's 11th birthday! 11 years ago, minus 9 weeks or so, Wes and I picked up "precious cargo" sent from Marjo Jaakkola, Turku Finland, at the KLM terminal at JFK at 2 o'clock in the morning. Our lives have been richer and more joyous as a result of having Ivy! She is the mother of 10 AKC champions, a Master Hunter, 1 BoS Nat'l Specialty winner, a GCH Am/Can/UKC Ch.& RN, 3 CH grandpups, just had 15 more grandkids, and has three more pupsnow in the show ring - Beezley, Cocoa, andFreedom. Ivy is an AMAZING girl and we are eternally grateful to Marjo for the honor of being Ivy's owners. Can you tell we love her?!


May 2, 2011: We lost Wes' mom, Bea. She was 88 years young. Born in Kauai, Hawaii, she had that sweet, generous Hawaiian outlook on life. A hui hou.

April 15, 2011: Fantastic news from Harrisburg, PA, on the first day of our WSSCA National Specialty weekend at Lebanon County Kennel Club -J-Clarke won Best of Breed! Thank you Judge Ken Clemons of Arizona! Congratulations to owners Mary & Gary Johnson! J-Clarke is a wonderful boy in so many ways. We are so proud of GCH Am/Can/UKC Ch Ivywild's Lookin' to Skeldale, RN.

April 9, 2011: J-Clarke finished his AKC Grand Championship yesterday and today went Best of Breed and Group 3! He is now GCHAm/Can/UKC Champion Ivywild's Lookin' to Skeldale, RN just a month after his4th birthday! He is quite an accomplished boy, and we think he's as sweet as he is handsome! Congratulations to his loving owners, Mary & Gary Johnson and handler Ryan!



December 5, 2010:Exciting news! "Mazie" is now a Master Hunter! She's one of a small number of female Welsh Springer to achieve this title. Congratulations to Susan & Mazie!
